Human Resources Administrative Assistant Job Responsibilities:

Supports the human resources department by screening and interviewing applicants; orienting new employees; administering employee benefit programs.

  • Provides candidates by screening, scheduling and interviewing applicants.
  • Administers health plans and programs by advising employees of eligibility; providing application information; helping with form completion; verifying submission; notifying employees of approvals.
  • Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, tracking vacation, sick, and personal time (PTO).
  • Orients new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Accomplishes human resources department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development
  • 1 to 3 years of administrative experience in Human Resources positions
  • Familiar with recruiting, employment law, and employee relations
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a high functioning team
